- The prospective couple will first complete the official online marriage license application
- Both applicants must appear together before an authorized marriage license agent; to review
information and confirm identity (e.g. Driver’s license, Passport, etc.) - The agent gives the couple a "Marriage License Worksheet"; to give to the officiant pre-ceremony
- It is the responsibility of the officiant to register the marriage online with the State of Hawaii
Department of Health, post-ceremony - A Temporary marriage certificate (valid for 90 days) is issued within days of registration and mailed
to the couple by the officiant and, serves as prima facie evidence of the fact of marriage, until the
official marriage certificate is secured - The official marriage certificate will be mailed to the couple by the State of Hawaii Department of
Health-Honolulu Office, in approx. 60 to 120 days
